Well this week whooshed by before I blinked and I can't believe the weekend is here again! There are lot of friends celebrating things around here and I'd like to share a couple of tags I made for them. I wanted to join in the the current Tag You're It challenge where Tracey provided an inspiration picture of some lovely tags added to teacher gifts. Tracey's tags had fishtail bottoms and were attached to gifts rather than being used as an element on a card, so I came up with a similar idea for wine bottle tags
The first one was for some friends who are celebrating the birth of their first Grandchild and I decided to get them some Champagne to 'wet the baby's head' as is the tradition here. Is this a peculiarly British thing or do other countries celebrate in this way I wonder? Anyway, it was an excuse to break out the PTI bottle tag die and I came up with this tag
I saw the greeting somewhere on Pinterest and typed it on the computer, printed it onto patterned paper, and die cut it with a stitched rectangle die to add to the tag. It may be easier to read it in this photo
I extended the tag by cutting the bottom part again in white card and adhered it from behind, to be the place for my 'celebrate' die cut to go.
The second tag was for a friend who moved house recently and I added it to another bottle of Champagne to take to his housewarming party. This time I wanted a very masculine feel, so I cut the tag from dark gray card and stamped it with a background star stamp using Versamark ink. I used the PTI Uncorked dies and stamps to decorate it.
and finished it off with a few little red starts to add a pop of colour.
I'd also like to play along with

The Mod Squad challenge - I'm tagging you
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Your tags are fantastic, Carol! I love the sweet pink with the white extension. I have never heard of that tradition before. Perfect masculine tag too, I love the festive look of the stars!
These are wonderful Carol and I love the sentiment on the Grandparents tag!! xx
These tags are fantastic! I especially love your masculine tag. Love how you separate the wine bottle to add your die-cut sentiment. I am totally copying this idea and using it on a card! Thanks for the inspiration! Have a great weekend, Carol!
OH WOW! these are fantastic Carole...so original and a great way to give a bottle. Love the sentiment on the grandparent one!
I am with everyone else. These tags are fantastic. I loved the sentiment on the first one and had never heard of the tradition that you spoke about. First time for everything. The second tag is so very appropriate for a new home. I am so glad that you played in the Mod Squad Challenge with week. Thanks, and I hope to see you again.
What a lovely idea!! xx
Love both of your tags. I have never heard of the wet your head for the baby, but it sounds like such a great idea. I hope it catches on here.
Brilliant tags and great idea x
These are wonderful wine tag! I know time goes by way too fast!
These wine tags are fabulous!!! I LOVE the first one with the extension on the bottom for the "celebrate." The second one, however, is my favorite. I really like the black with the white. I SO want that stamp set!!
Cool tags. That grandparent one is great! Thank you so much for participating this week at the Mod Squad Challenge
Wow those tags are great love them both. Thanks for joining us over at tag you're it.
Super tags - and what a fab idea. I love the sentiment on the grandparents bottle. And the housewarming gift is just perfect for our tag challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with The Male Room this week!
Wow these are a great idea. I think I like the black and white one with those little red stars that jump out, although they are both very creative. Thank you for sharing your tags with us at The Male Room this week.
Chris
