Top 10 cards of 2015

Hello everyone,

It's that time of year when we reflect on the year gone by before we open the doors to the new year, and I have spent a little time looking back on my blog and picking my favourite projects of the year. So here they are, in no particular order, and if you want to read a little more about how I made the card you can click on the link to be taken to the original post:-

The first card is a chalkboard birthday card that I made for my son. Chris has his birthday just after Christmas, so I try to be prepared and make a special card for him  On this one I used the MFT Easel die a mixture of stamps

The next card uses Papertrey Ink's Lovely Laurels set, and I love the way the laurel die makes a partial cut in the card so that you can peep underneath

This bright and cheery birthday card was made using stamps from the new Happy Little Stampers shop owned by the lovely Kylie Purtell. I really enjoyed playing with all of the elements from the Bold Birthday Sentiments set to come up with this card

Elephants were in great demand this year and I particularly love the little cutie from WPlus 9 Unforgettable stamp set. I made a CAS card with it and stacked the die cut sentiment which was another big trend this year

Here is another CAS birthday card I made - this time with Clearly Besotted stamps. I love that dish of ice cream with the glitter on it that makes it look like it has just come out of the freezer, and the glossy accents on the cherry make it look so real! My favourite canvas impression plate features on this too

I made a Hot Chocolate gift set this year using the Papertrey Ink Coffee Cozy dies to make a mug hug and included a travel cup, gift card holder and tub of yummy hot chocolate so that a treat could be had whether at home or on the go. I used aqua wool felt for the mug hug and it is really easy to put together, making even my stitching look good!

Next up is a birthday card I made for a friend of ours who loves parrots. I used the fabulous Avery Elle Tweet Tweet set and created a beach scene for the background. This set comes with dies but as I don't have them, I stamped and embossed all the pieces and then fussy cut them before adding them to the beach. The glossy accents on the beaks was a great finishing touch.

We are of an age where our friend's children are getting married and having children of their own so I nedded lots of baby cards this year. This was my favourite new baby card, and used the Paper Smooches Welcome die. The stork came from the Avery Elle Plus One set

I wanted to include this birthday card I made for my tennis mad daughter this year. It uses a really cute stamp from Lily of the Valley and the little girl really does remind me of my daughter when she was a child

And my last choice is another card using Clearly Besotted stamps. I love simple designs and this layout lends itself to cards for so many occasions.
